Christmas special!

11 Dec 2014 - 11:08

Hi Curvers,

It’s almost Christmas! This means that it is time for a Christmas special!

We have big changes for the amount of coins you get per purchase. The following will be the new prices of coins until the end of December:

  • € 4,99 will give you 5500 coins instead of 2000.
  • € 9,99 will give you 12000 coins instead of 5000.
  • NEW OPTION: you can now get 2000 coins for just € 1,99

We wanted to try out different coins prices for a very long time. It was just way too expensive to buy coins. For example the color Artic cost 6000 coins, so to be able to get Artic with real money you had to pay 10 euro to get 5000 coins and in addition you had to play Curve Fever for 1000/60 = 16.66 Hours. (This last bit is actually quite ok) But let’s not start about the 20 euro package! After December we will evaluate these results from these changes and decide what we will do with coins in the future.

We think that Curve Fever is more than just a simple flash game, but having to spend 10 euro and 17 hours to get a single color in a browser flash game was just absurd; especially for the new players who don’t have a lot of time to get all the coins by playing games.

We also have taken a look at which icons, powerups and colors you like the most and which you don’t. Based on these factors, we have given many items has an adjustment in price.

Happy Christmas everybody!

Introducing 1v1 ranked ladder

4 Dec 2014 - 15:11

Hey Curvers!

Today I am very excited, because we have added a new feature that has been requested often:

1v1 ranked ladder

We implemented this feature because until today all 1v1 games would count as an FFA game. Playing 1v1 is of course very different from FFA, so it deserves a separate ranking. Also playing 1v1 resulted in a much higher rank gain per game. This caused that the top players in the FFA ladder almost solely played 1v1.

One versus one ranked can be played by starting a ranked room with just two players. This means when you start a ranked team room with only two players, it will count as a ranked 1v1 match. Every night there will be an update of the players position, and it will show how many positions you gained, ... or lost.

In addition we created separate ladder for each server. This should promote people to play on their own servers. Hopefully it makes those servers more interesting to play on.

Happy Curving,

Pug., reverton and Hard Drop won the 3v3-Team-Tournament

30 Nov 2014 - 00:22

Congratulations to Pug's team for winning the 3v3 Speed-Tournament. They played two fantastic last matches. In the Semi Finals they won against Xantiv's team in Tie break (13-11).

After that, they also won against the team of our first Olympic champion Gilnash (mooh). Therefore all of them deserved the crown and we have three new champions now!

Also congratulations to mooh for making the second place and Nawl for the third place.
